It's a salvage operation. Picking up the pieces of yesterday, wherever, whenever, I come across them. Found photography of other times. Old postcards. Illustration art. Old book etchings, text photography, diagrams, and the like. Only working with what I personally come across.

Lost Angel (A Found Photo)
This is actually a contact print. That is, it is printed the size of the negative itself. ((Approx 2 1/2" x 3 1/2")
It is a sweet picture, isn't it? No, Dee, it was developed the old school way, some time ago. I haven't a clue how to process negatives digitally, so if you know of any helpful links, please send them my way!!
I have no idea who the girl is, Scriber. It is just one of many images in a box of negatives and prints I bought depicting people and places in the 1920s and 30s.
wondrous and eerie, that broken square of light above her head, her face haze, as if trembling in trying to appear in a mirror, yes, 'apparition' is the word, as is she were on the verge of this existence, on the threshold between two worlds...
Dan, I love this photo. Did you convert the negative digitally? (Did I spell it right this time?)

ReplyDeleteOne thing I like about this photo is that she appears almost like an apparition.

And then there is you. An apparition in my life. Real, but not real, these hugs in cyber-space. We do the best we can. d.
