It's a salvage operation. Picking up the pieces of yesterday, wherever, whenever, I come across them. Found photography of other times. Old postcards. Illustration art. Old book etchings, text photography, diagrams, and the like. Only working with what I personally come across.

What Do People Look Like?
From Bernarr Macfadden's Eight Volume work, Encyclopedia of Health, published in the 1930s. In Volume Five, Macfadden discusses physical attributes of humans, stages of development, gender differences, and racial differences. Here are a few of his photo illustrations on the topic.
Yeh, he looked buff enough. Interesting that in the years that followed, the whole body-building thing has been so extreme, and the latest title-holders actually look quite monstrous. I like fitness, but this extremism can be creepy!
That Charles Atlas photo really brings back memories.
